1996-2003 7.3L Powerstroke Injection Pressure Regulator (IPR) Valve Grizzly GA33402

Thumbnail Filmstrip of 1996-2003 7.3L Powerstroke Injection Pressure Regulator (IPR) Valve Grizzly GA33402 Images

The Grizzly GA33402 is the injector pressure regulator for a 1996–2003 7.3 Powerstroke. It is the valve, not the seal kit. It replaces Motorcraft PU7Z-9C968-B and Ford F81Z-9C968-AB. The Alliant match is AP63402.

The IPR is what the PCM uses to build and hold ICP. A sticking valve or a screen packed with metal is a hard start, a no-start, and a truck that will not stay running. This is the late-style valve. A 1994–1995 pump uses a different regulator. The seal kit is Ford 4C3Z-9C977-AA if the valve itself is still good. The FFD229 wrench is what gets it out without pulling the pump.

It fits 1996–2003 F-Series, E-Series, and Excursion 7.3 trucks, plus the T444E from engine serial 216544 on.

    Fitment

    • 1996–2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke
    • F-Series, E-Series, Excursion, and T444E
    • Valve included
    • Replaces F81Z-9C968-AB
    • Does not fit 1994–1995

Clean the bore before it goes in. Metal in the screen means the pump or a lifter is coming apart, and a new valve will fill up again.

I was in a pinch and Alliant is on backorder. Full Force recommended the Grizzly unit over the Motorcraft due to Motorcraft now being manufactured by Dorman. I was hesitant but needed the truck up right away. I was pleasantly surprised to find a quality unit. Finish is nice and the big difference between bad ones and the OE is the wait of the IPR valve, normally cheap ones feel light. This one was heavy. Installed easily and is the correct nut size as the OE. Truck fired up. IPR % and ICP numbers are all in spec. Truck runs like a top. Thank you Full Force! P.S Grab the IPR wrench, way easier than snaking in a deep socket and flex 1/2 ratchet.
