The Auto Meter 7074 is a complete pre-packaged dual gauge A-pillar kit engineered for 1999–2003 7.3L and early 2003 6.0L Ford Super Duty trucks and Excursions. Built around Auto Meter’s proven Ultra-Lite series, this turnkey monitoring setup pairs brushed aluminum analog dials, high-contrast black markings, and fluorescent orange pointers with a vehicle-specific dual A-pillar mount molded from heat-resistant ABS composite. The kit includes an electric pyrometer exhaust gas temperature (EGT) gauge (0–1600°F) with a Type-K thermocouple probe, a mechanical boost pressure gauge (0–35 PSI) with nylon boost line and brass compression fittings, and all necessary mounting hardware.
Unmonitored exhaust gas temperatures melting piston crowns under heavy hauling, undetected boost leaks robbing low-end torque, and running blind with aftermarket tuning are what this dual gauge kit eliminates. Factory Ford instrument clusters provide zero real-time feedback on turbocharger boost pressure or pre-turbo exhaust thermal loads. Auto Meter’s matched Ultra-Lite dials position critical diesel powertrain data right in the driver's forward field of view without obstructing windshield visibility. It is a complete two-gauge analog monitoring system with A-pillar pod, sensors, tubing, and wiring hardware only; it does not plug into the OBD-II port or alter PCM engine calibrations.
It fits 1999–2003 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks as well as 2000–2003 Ford Excursions equipped with the 7.3L Powerstroke or early 2003 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine.
Fitment
- 1999–2003 Ford F-250 Super Duty 7.3L & 6.0L Powerstroke
- 1999–2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty 7.3L & 6.0L Powerstroke
- 1999–2003 Ford F-450 / F-550 Super Duty 7.3L & 6.0L Powerstroke
- 2000–2003 Ford Excursion 7.3L & 6.0L Powerstroke
- Complete monitoring package: 2 gauges, vehicle-specific dual pillar pod, sensors, and hardware
- Auto Meter Ultra-Lite 2-1/16-inch brushed aluminum analog gauges
- Electric Pyrometer EGT gauge (0–1600°F) with Type-K pre-turbo exhaust thermocouple
- Mechanical Boost pressure gauge (0–35 PSI) with 1/8" nylon tubing kit and compression fittings
- Dual-pod molded ABS A-pillar mount matches factory interior contours (paintable)
- Traditional incandescent perimeter lighting with red and green bulb slip-covers
- Complete analog gauge and pillar package only
Disconnect both negative battery cables before beginning installation to prevent electrical shorts while routing wiring through the firewall. For the most accurate and responsive exhaust temperature readings, drill and tap the driver-side exhaust manifold 1/8-inch NPT upstream of the turbo up-pipe collector, running the engine at idle or packing grease into the tap flutes to trap loose metal shavings. Tap the mechanical boost line into the intake manifold or compressor intake spider using the included compression fitting, taking care to route the nylon line through a firewall rubber grommet away from sharp metal edges and hot exhaust components. Mount the dual gauge pod securely over the factory A-pillar trim using the supplied plastic push fasteners, and wire the gauge illumination circuit into the factory instrument dash dimmer switch for balanced night driving.
