The Ford F81Z-9C387-BA is a genuine OEM fuel line seal kit for the factory fuel filter bowl lines on 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke engines. It includes the specialized Viton compression sleeve grommets (commonly called fuel line olives or vibra-lok seals) required to seal the hard metal fuel feed and return lines connecting to the fuel filter bowl and cylinder heads. Ford manufactures these seals from a diesel-grade fluoroelastomer engineered to resist fuel degradation, thermal hardening, and high engine valley temperatures.

Persistent fuel leaks pooling in the engine valley, air intrusion into the fuel rails, or wet tube nuts after servicing the fuel filter bowl or replacing hard lines are what this kit fixes. The factory rubber sleeve grommets flatten, harden, and take a permanent set over time, making it impossible for the metal lines to seal properly once loosened. It is the fuel line seal grommet kit only; hard steel fuel lines and brass fittings are not included.

It fits 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke trucks, Excursions, and E-Series vans.

Ensure all remnants of the old, hardened rubber sleeves are thoroughly removed from the metal tubing ends and inside the brass fitting cavities before installing new seals. Slide the new sleeves onto the clean metal tubing and lubricate them lightly with clean engine oil or diesel fuel to prevent binding. Thread the tube nuts by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to factory specification; do not overtighten, as crushing the sleeves can restrict fuel flow through the hard lines.
