The Alliant AP63410 is an OEM-grade drop-in fuel bowl heater element engineered for 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke engines. It installs directly in the bottom of the factory engine valley fuel filter bowl to warm incoming diesel fuel, preventing cold-weather paraffin wax gelling and ensuring smooth fuel flow across the filter media during winter operation. Alliant Power builds this replacement heating element to match Ford OEM part number F81Z-9J294-AA and includes the integrated electrical stud connector and sealing gasket.

Engine stall conditions, sudden crank-no-start symptoms in cold temperatures, and blown 30-amp PCM fuses (Fuse 30 in Super Duty under-dash junction boxes) are what this heater replaces. Because Ford wired the fuel bowl heater element on the exact same electrical circuit as the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), an aging heater element that shorts out will immediately pop Fuse 30—killing engine power and shutting down the PCM. Replacing a cracked, burnt, or shorted heater restores winter fuel warming and eliminates roadside stalls caused by short circuits. It is the fuel bowl heater element and mounting hardware kit only; the aluminum fuel bowl housing and wiring pigtail are sold separately.

It fits 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke Super Duty trucks, Excursions, and E-Series vans equipped with the factory fuel filter bowl.

Disconnect both negative battery cables and relieve fuel system pressure before beginning removal to avoid electrical shorts or fuel spray. Drain the fuel bowl completely via the yellow drain lever, unscrew the filter lid, and remove the fuel filter cartridge and stand pipe. Clean the floor of the aluminum bowl with a lint-free cloth to eliminate sludge and sediment before installing the new element. Ensure the bottom sealing gasket sits flat in its recess and torque the electrical retaining nut carefully by hand with a socket—do not overtighten, as excessive torque can snap the electrical feed stud or distort the seal.

I would like to thank Full Force Diesel first off for everything they have helped me with in getting this truck going. And on that note, NO, it's still not running. But I have the engine apart in my drive way right now inside the engine bay of the truck. With that being said this heater was a perfect fit for my fuel bowl. I have no doubt when I finally start putting everything back on, this is going to work perfectly as well as the other 20 parts I've purchased. LOL! Thank you FFD.
