The Bosch 91605 is an OEM-grade frame-mounted electric fuel lift pump engineered for 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke engines. Bosch manufactures this pump as a direct-fit replacement for the original chassis-mounted electric pump, delivering consistent volume and operating fuel pressure to the engine valley fuel filter bowl. It features the factory electrical harness spade connection, the barbed suction inlet, and the threaded discharge port to maintain stock fuel delivery.

Hard starting, fuel pressure dropping under load, injector rattle, or sudden engine stall caused by a tired, whining, or locked-up frame pump are what this pump replaces. Over time and high mileage, factory lift pumps wear their internal carbon brushes and rollers, resulting in aerated fuel delivery and inadequate rail pressure that starves the injectors. It is the replacement frame-mounted electric fuel pump unit only; the mounting bracket, chassis isolator sleeves, and outlet adapter fittings are sold separately.

It fits 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke trucks, Excursions, and E-Series vans, as well as 1994–1997 OBS 7.3 trucks converted to electric fuel systems.

Disconnect the vehicle battery ground cables and relieve fuel system pressure before loosening fuel connections. Place a drain pan directly beneath the pump on the driver-side frame rail to catch siphoning fuel when disconnecting the suction hose. Cycle the ignition key to the run position several times for 20 seconds each after installation to prime the fuel filter bowl and purge trapped air before attempting to crank the engine.
