One of the simplest ways to wake up a stock 6.0L turbo.
The KC Turbos 300128 Billet Compressor Wheel is a drop-in upgrade for the stock Garrett turbo on 2003–2004 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke trucks. KC's GTX-style billet wheel with extended tips replaces the factory cast wheel, adding quicker spool and a little more airflow for better throttle response and towing performance.
Tested to beat the factory design.
The wheel uses an 11-blade single-plane blade layout. In KC's testing, this design outperformed the stock dual-plane wheel, delivering better flow and response.
Built stronger, balanced from the start.
Billet construction makes the wheel stronger than the factory cast wheel, and it ships component balanced, ready to install.
Key Features
- GTX-style billet compressor wheel with extended tips
- 11-blade single-plane design
- Drop-in replacement for the factory cast wheel
- Faster spool-up and improved throttle response
- More top-end performance
- Lower EGTs
- Stronger, better-flowing design than stock
- Component balanced
What Problem Does This Solve?
- Lagging boost on older trucks. High-mileage 6.0L turbos often feel slow to respond. Owners report that this wheel, combined with a thorough turbo cleaning and a full 360-degree rebuild kit, restores near-instant spool and noticeably better towing.
- A weak link in the stock turbo. The factory cast wheel is weaker than billet. Upgrading during a rebuild adds durability for the long haul.
- More performance without a new turbo. This wheel adds real-world performance for a fraction of what a complete upgraded turbo costs.
Complete the Upgrade
- Add a 10-blade turbine wheel: KC recommends pairing this wheel with its 10-blade turbine for more top-end flow, lower EGTs and the classic 2003 whistle.
- Add a rebuild kit: Since the turbo is apart, it's the perfect time to replace bearings and seals.
- Prefer it all in one box? The KC Balanced Assembly Turbo Kit (300403) includes this style of billet wheel, a 10-blade turbine and a rebuild kit, balanced together.
Before You Order
- Check your turbo: 2003 and 2005–2007 stock turbos originally used different compressor wheels, and many rebuilt turbos have had 2003-style wheels installed. If your turbo has been rebuilt or replaced, confirm what you have before ordering.
- Reverse thread: The 6.0L turbo's compressor nut uses a reverse thread, so you turn it to the right to loosen.
Important: DIY Installation
This is a DIY component for experienced turbo builders. DIY products are not covered under warranty. If you're not comfortable working on turbos, have a turbo shop perform the installation.
Fitment
Fits stock 2003–2004 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke turbos. Not for Garrett PowerMax turbos. See the KC PowerMax Billet Compressor Wheel (300108). For 2005–2007 turbos, use KC 300019.
