The Mishimoto MMTS-F2D-96H is a high-temperature thermostat for a 1996–2003 7.3 Powerstroke. It opens at 205 degrees. The factory thermostat opens at about 195. The 189-degree unit is MMTS-F2D-96L.
Coolant stays in the engine longer, so a cold-climate truck warms up sooner and the heater works sooner. It is a direct fit in the stock housing. The DieselSite pump kits use their own International 205-degree short-stem thermostat. This one does not go in that pump. The factory part is Motorcraft F6TZ-8575-EA. The warranty is lifetime.
It fits 1996–2003 F-Series, E-Series, and Excursion trucks with the stock 7.3 water pump.
Fitment
- 1996–2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke
- Opens at 205 degrees
- Stock housing
- Lifetime warranty
- Low-temp unit is MMTS-F2D-96L
Replace the seal with it. Bleed the system until it opens. A truck that already runs hot on a grade wants the 189-degree thermostat.
